Compost instead of garbage disposal

This is the most basic thing that I do faithfully, especially since we don't have a garbage disposal in our sink at home.

Click here for several good compost bins.

We currently use a square outdoor bin, but I'd like to switch to a round/rotating one.

The Stainless Steel drinking bottle you’ve been waiting for

EcoCanteen - Stainless Steel Water Bottle

Use your ecoCanteen anywhere!

Going green has never been so easy! Plastic water bottles are consuming our landfills, plus recycling plastic is an energy consuming process, so use a canteen that will last forever! This one is high-quality stainless-steel which is much better than aluminum and of course plastic.

green hard drives?

For a long time, I've specifically bought the lowest-RPM drive I could in hopes of saving energy and running cooler.  That is what I thought of when I heard about the Western Digital Green Hard Drive at http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/10/caviar-green-hard-drive-is-more-energy-efficient.php site.

You can't actually reduce the RPM speed on this hard drive to save energy.  But the heat and power reductions do sound nice.  It slowly ramps up at start time instead of jolting it to full speed. I've been a Seagate fan for years, but this could cause me to go back to Western Digital.
